GRANTHAM Angling Assoc Flyfishing Section (GAAFFS)

Our Aims

box

The river continues to show a steady and sustained improvement- as is our mutually beneficial relationship with The Environmental agencies.

Our team of riverkeepers are dedicated anglers with the well-being of the water at heart and an ever ready eagerness to help in the interests of better fishing for us all.

Today, GAAFFS is a healthy and thriving organisation with over 180 members.

Making sure that we have fish to fish for, means putting more back into the river than we take out- and we are not just talking about trout. Habitat is crucial to holding fish. We seek and act on advice from experts. We work to achieve exceptional water quality,
create good lies and enable the trout population to become as near to self sustaining as possible.

We continue to introduce fish, but selectively. The bulk of our investment is longer term, creating habitat and spawning redds, ensuring healthy oxygen levels, building pools and riffles, planting and pruning, and ensuring that the entire eco-chain works as it should. Of course the search for new waters for our members remains an over-riding priority.

The quality of our river management and environmentally respectful approach of our members has enabled us to increase our waters. At the time of writing, we have miles of prime brown trout and grayling river fishing that extends beyond the borders of Lincolnshire.
