Car Parking on I and H beats at Girder Bridge

Car Parking on I and H beats at Girder Bridge

Instructions for members with regard to the new bollard at I/H beat and how to negotiate this without sustaining damage to the underside of your vehicle.

Please note the following:

• PLEASE DO NOT ATTEMPT TO DRIVE YOUR VEHICLE OVER THE VERY CENTRE OF THE BOLLARD UNLESS YOU ARE DRIVING A 4WD VEHICLE. THERE IS INSUFFICIENT CLEARANCE AVAILABLE AND YOU WILL DAMAGE YOUR CAR!

Once the bollard has been unlocked and collapsed fully, drivers should approach and slowly cross over the bridge with the bollard to the LEFT HAND SIDE of the vehicle (see photo 1).

• Wind your window down to allow for closer alignment of your wheel with – (a) the bollard, on the way in or (b) the kerb, on the way out.

It is necessary for you to drive your vehicle over one of the bollard arms, in either direction, as shown in the photo 2 below.

A slow and careful approach is the key factor here in avoiding unnecessary damage to your vehicle.

IMPORTANT NOTE: Neither the access road to the sleeper bridge nor the bollard crossing itself, are at all suitable for negotiation by vehicles sporting very low or sports-style suspension. Significant damage to the underside of your vehicle is highly likely should you choose to ignore this warning.

The Padlock Code is: 31510
