GAAFFS SOCIAL MEDIA USAGE GUIDELINES & PRINCIPLES FOR MEMBER PARTICIPATION
As a club, we strive to maintain a minimal set of rules and adopt a common-sense approach. However, there are certain types of posts that we would prefer to avoid. We would like to reiterate some key principles, as any posts that do not adhere to these guidelines may be subject to removal:
• Keep Fish Wet: Please consider how and where you take photographs of fish. When capturing images, we encourage you to follow the guidelines outlined here, and, as also outlined in the downloadable attachment below: https://www.keepfishwet.org/fish-photography-101 We do not want to see fish placed on dry banks or held in dry hands. Remember, we do not stock fish; our wild fish populations are vital to the health of our river and club, so let’s take care of them.
• Avoid Revealing Locations: We kindly ask that you refrain from disclosing specific fishing locations or the numbers of fish caught when discussing particular beats. While this may seem trivial, our goal is to minimize pressure on specific areas and fish populations. We encourage you to engage with the community and share your successful fishing experiences, as well as to use our channels for inquiries and discussions about poaching.
However, it is essential that we prioritise the protection of our fish. Without our wild stocks, our fishery cannot thrive. We are all stewards of this club, and together, we can ensure its sustainability.
Thank you GAAFFS Committee – April 2025
